This Healthy Strawberry Mango Green Smoothie is summer in a glass. Hidden spinach and collagen give this smoothie a healthy boost. It’s also perfect for anyone with dietary restrictions, as this smoothie is Paleo, AIP and Whole30, as well as dairy-free, nut-free, seed-free and free of added sugars. Plus, it will only take you a few minutes to throw together, so it makes for a quick and convenient breakfast, lunch or snack.
Strawberry Mango Green Smoothie Ingredients
Strawberries – the yummiest, sweetest red berries of summer. I used frozen, but you could also use fresh, if you have some on hand
Mango – one of the best fruits of the season! Mangos are great for smoothies, as they are naturally sweet and their texture helps make a super creamy smoothie. Feel free to use fresh or frozen – whichever you have on hand
Spinach – for a boost of vitamin C, iron, and other nutrients, without overpowering the flavor of this smoothie
Avocado – a healthy fat that adds creaminess, helps keep you full and balances blood sugar
Vanilla powder – for a little extra treat without any extra sugar. Feel free to sub alcohol-free vanilla extract, if you prefer
Collagen peptides – a great addition for all the benefits of collagen, plus a serving of protein, to help give this smoothie some staying power
Coconut milk – because there is no other, more satisfying way to add that luscious, creamy texture to a tropical smoothie
To make this Healthy Strawberry Mango Green Smoothie, simply add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. If your blender needs more liquid, just slowly add a little at a time until it blends smoothly. Enjoy immediately.
Strawberry Mango Smoothie Variations
Here are a few swaps you could use to mix up this summer smoothie a bit:
- If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, try adding a date (AIP, Paleo and Whole30) or a little maple syrup (AIP & Paleo).
- For an extra creamy smoothie, use full-fat coconut milk for all the liquid, rather than half.
- Add half of a banana for even more creaminess.
- Feel free to use fresh or frozen fruit – whichever you prefer. If you use fresh fruit, you may want to add a little ice to your smoothie to give it that signature thick smoothie consistency.
- Add a scoop of coconut yogurt for a probiotic boost.
- Swap the coconut milk for another non-dairy milk, like almond milk (Paleo & Whole 30), tigernut milk (Paleo, AIP & Whole30) or one of your other favorites.
Chew your smoothies
To help balance your blood sugar and to stay fuller longer, it’s best to enjoy your smoothie alongside a meal. You can also try slowing down and “chewing” your smoothie. I know it sounds silly, but thoroughly chewing your food (including smoothies) is one of the best ways to improve your digestion. Chewing signals the rest of your digestive tract to prepare for the incoming food and make the appropriate digestive juices and enzymes. And you need your digestion to be in tip-top shape to take full advantage of the nutrients in this smoothie!
What blender is best for smoothies?
There are many types of blenders you can use for smoothies. High-speed blenders tend to work the best. My two favorites are my Vitamix and my NutriBullet Pro. Both do a great job blending smoothies into a very smooth, creamy consistency.
Despite all the great things I’ve heard about Ninja blenders, I have never had success with them. No matter how long I blend, it never turns out smooth and creamy. But if that’s what you have, give it a try and see if it works for you.
