Description
Flavorful Turmeric-Spiced Braised Cabbage is the perfect AIP side. Pair it with Turmeric Chicken & cauli rice for an Indian-inspired feast!
Ingredients
1 Tbsp avocado oil
1/2 medium head green cabbage, shredded (about 4 cups)
2 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup bone broth or water
squeeze of lime juice
Instructions
Core and shred cabbage, either with a box grater, a food processor, or just by slicing thinly with a sharp knife (or buy pre-shredded cabbage).
In a large skillet with high sides, warm avocado oil over med-high heat, until glistening (but not smoking). Add shredded cabbage and sauté until just beginning to wilt, about 2 minutes.
Add all the spices and broth, stirring to combine. Cover and reduce heat to a low simmer.
Simmer until cabbage is tender (about 7-10 minutes). Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice and serve.
