This super simple paleo brussels sprouts recipe with maple-balsamic glaze makes a perfect holiday side dish. It’s also AIP-friendly & vegan!

I love a simple side dish. Especially when it comes to preparing food for the holidays. The simpler, the better. I just don’t have time for long, complicated recipes when I’m trying to prepare a million things at once.

There is a bit of an exception to this guideline, though: it still has to be delicious and have a tiny bit of a twist to make it special for the holidays. No boring sides allowed!

Enter: Maple-Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts. The perfect holiday side. Simple, yet delectable. Just five ingredients. And done in 25 minutes, flat.

I’m pretty sure it’s an unspoken rule that you have to have brussels sprouts on Thanksgiving and Christmas. They just pair so beautifully with turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy. And all the other fall and winter flavors you can pack into one giant meal.

Let’s make these paleo brussels sprouts for your next holiday meal!

How to make Maple-Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts

These paleo brussels sprouts are so simple, yet I promise at least one of your family members will ask you for the recipe. They’re that good.

First, gather your five ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs brussels sprouts, washed, trimmed and halved (about 4 cups)
  • 1.5 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1.5 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (adjust to taste)

Then, preheat your oven to 425ºF. While the oven is preheating, wash, trim and halve your brussels sprouts. Add all five ingredients to a large mixing bowl and toss to coat.

Arrange the glazed brussels sprouts on a large sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Try to space evenly and give the brussels sprouts plenty of room to roast and crisp up. Roast at 425ºF for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through. Serve and enjoy!
