It’s the middle of winter. The air is crisp, and it seems as though the entire United States is currently buried in snow (or ice). I don’t know about y’all, but I could sure use all the cozy vibes I can get right now.
Join me in making this quick and cozy Spiced Honey Lemon Tea recipe before burying yourself under a pile of comfy blankets and curling up by the fire.
How to make Spiced Honey Lemon Tea (aka Virgin Hot Toddy)
This warm and cozy drink could not be any simpler. Just add water to a teapot or saucepan and warm it up. Then add fresh-squeezed lemon juice, honey, ground cinnamon and ground ginger to a mug. Once the water is hot, pour it over the other ingredients in your mug. Give it a stir, and add more honey, lemon juice or spices to your taste, if desired. Then sit back, slow down, and enjoy your new favorite warm beverage.
Variations
Simple: Make this Spiced Honey Lemon Tea recipe even simpler by buying Santa Cruz Organic lemon juice and using it in place of fresh-squeezed lemon juice. The taste is slightly different, but it still has all the warm and cozy vibes. Just don’t use store-bought lemon juice with a bunch of preservatives in it. The taste will absolutely be different and it will not be good.
Add tea: If you’re looking for a caffeine boost with your Spiced Honey Lemon Tea, just add your favorite tea bag and steep for 3-5 minutes. Or use loose-leaf tea in a strainer.
Virgin Hot Toddy: This Spiced Honey Lemon Tea is technically already a virgin hot toddy. Just serve it in a fancy glass mug and add a cinnamon stick to feel extra fancy. You could also add a little extra cinnamon and ginger for a little more zip. Bonus points for no hangover in the morning!
Hot Toddy: For an alcoholic hot toddy, just add a shot of your favorite bourbon or whiskey.
